Inaugural session of the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe
Made up of delegations from 13 European countries, the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe met for the first time in Strasbourg. Winston Churchill, Paul-Henri Spaak and Robert Schuman were among those present.
