The Hague Congress

Motivated by the desire to promote the unification of the continent, various currents of pro-European opinion came together in the Hague in the presence of political figures and under the honorary presidency of Winston Churchill. This Congress led to the birth on 25 October in Brussels of the European Movement, a current of opinion that would win many supporters for the European idea.
